Obesity a Medical Problem?
Obesity is considered as a
world-wide epidemic disease due to its high prevalence. In addition to obese
individuals suffering social discrimination and an impaired quality of life,
obesity has been associated with increased risk of life-threatening
diseases, including hypertension, type II diabetes mellitus, coronary heart
disease (CHD), congestive heart failure, and certain cancers.
